Years ago, I recall something almost magically refreshing about sucking down a 6-1/2 ounce bottle of Coca-Cola.

Today, slurping from a 12 ounce can, (with the questionably dirty can-top) just isn't the same. In my own whimsical mind, drinking Coke from the small green ribbed glass seemed to embody more than just satisfying thrist.

No sharp metallic edges or pop-tops - just smooth rounded glass.

Is it nostalgia to obsequiously endear myself to such supple motion and frugal form?

I think how it was just enough to leave me wanting a little more, but not 5-1/2 ounces more. I like that and somehow I think that is the way it should be. At times, maybe a little self-denial isn't so bad. It seems to make the taste of things - that much better. I could walk away from that bottle - feeling just a little less gluttonous.

They were the perfect size. I prefer my mineral water in little bottles like this. Did you know that the classic Coke in a glass bottle like this (sometimes called Mexican Coke nowadays) uses the original recipe cane sugar instead of corn syrup? My step-dad's model railroad club has an old vending machine that still stocks this style, it's delightful.

While I don't love soda over all, I will say when I have the urge finding those glass bottles or buying the teeny tiny little cans are the most I can drink in one sitting! Haha. The glass bottle always always tastes better.
