A peaceful heart may be somewhat elusive, but there are subtle clues.
William Penn, a confirmed pacifist and Quaker, was born in the mid 1600's . He was known for his peaceful outreach to others and especially towards the native American culture. Rather than engendering commonly placed fear, distrust and hatred out of differences, he often seemed to be able to reach across the divide better than many others of his time. To wit:
"I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again."
