Yearning for Emeralds

A stretch of peace as long as the best summer day you could ever imagine - dusty toes set on the pavement drawing warmth and a bendy-straw in a glass of cold stuff which might be Kool-Aid or some cheaper brand your mom would buy. It didn't matter, it was green like emeralds and there was so much ahead.
