Creeks run, as leaves rust inexorably into fall and here I see you, delicately by water as a summer might last forever in me
- even as she sleeps

I knew you in a time before this year
further* than the hillside, where I walked away

Yet now, the woolly worms are mostly brown
like a coat you wear, which gently wears you because it is a softer way to remember her

Ahh. Much love. Creeks are a very American thing - they remind me of Laura INgalls Wilder stories when I was a kid. Which just pushed me towards a prepper mentality tbh, But I still loved them.

I had to google "creek". We have "brook", or more locally "pill". And yeah, I think I'd prefer the unprolonged version, but I'm obsessed with self sufficiency. Which is probably something I should take to my therapist.
