The American Beech

As the wind surrounds its trunk, each limb repeatedly resists and supplicates as both engage to become healthy, strong and at peace. There are days my hands encounter a landscape of diminished purpose, left without touch or atmosphere - simply gravity and practicality to ground the desire that courses in the life which murmurs beneath my chest.

Beeches are my favourite trees. Ours look slightly different, but they remind me so much of where I grew up. This time of year would be all dead russet leaves on limestone.

Aww. It's beautiful. The hill opposite my home when I was a kid was covered in copper beech trees. It was beautiful at this time of year.
