If I added and subtracted
I might fit all things logical
and perfectly arguable
to such a perfect world,
entertaining perfect acts
of priceless sacrifice.

I would simply believe
what is proven and leave
nothing to faith, hope or
imperfection and by this,
what I yearn to have or know
I will hold in account
as loss by calculation.

I'd tell you just what fits, and
I could measure your shoe size
down to an itty-bitty fraction of you
but still..I wouldn't know how
you loved shoes or even
if you loved them, at all.
