A Mom or a Dad

In deeper -
softer and gentler
than ashes or dust
this water pooling
to the clearest black
cool, still and silent.
It is where they came
and where we go.
At times it feels like
talking and laughing
until I then remember
how quiet it really is
in this beautiful and
wonderful part of was.
