Perception

It seems like there isn't much out here this time of year but that is simply a passing lonely perception I have from time-to-time.

I remember exactly eighteen years ago, there was about the same amount of snow on the ground. I tried to reckon how I would be okay when you left. Looking back, I realize I made many shameful mistakes and missteps--especially with the kids and discovering new relationships--all in the pursuit of filling a void. I am thankful for the few good choices I've made even though it seems like I've haphazardly stumbled into them.

Passing perceptions, are just that. I resolve to learn more about my weaknesses so that I can focus on becoming a better man. It is just such a long road in a short life.

With that, I leave you with a grainy photograph of the beaver who listened to me ramble.
