Tolerance enveloping Intolerance

michaelboyThis rural part of Ohio generally doesn't embrace diversity to any great degree. There are hateful political flags proudly displayed in front lawns, some sprinkled with obscenities and it certainly isn't unusual to hear people espouse ridicule of vegetarians, vegans, sexual orientation, race, etc.
My initial reaction is to right the wrongs set forth by confrontation but the inner me says that this will do very little. It seems a more effective instrument of change may lie in our ability to show kindness and love -- even to those that are discordant.
It is ever so important to live our lives and demonstrate positive beliefs to others and then maybe, just maybe there's a chance that it might take hold in the hearts of others.

I've always liked this song because it makes me feel happy. The video was filmed mostly in the UK but part of it was filmed just down the road from the hospital near Pittsburgh where I volunteered in the ER for over ten years(which I really miss).
