Aside from the real but smallish physical component, it seems that the most substantial and genuine script of attraction lies in our perception and hope that we are -- or just may be desirable to another.

How affection leaves robin-egg blue
like eyes in each everyday moment of you
when ordinary is grocery-cart pushing
and wishing was then not deciding
if a striped watermelon was really ripe.

Wanting to ask you, and then confusing
the attraction of touching for adoration
in all the weaker parts of me, honestly
still when I close my eyes to wonder
I see that incredible shade of blue
