It bears repeating
Feb. 6th, 2022 09:08 pmLooking directly upon the Pleiades, the beautifully named daughters of Atlas fade as we bring our focus toward the elusive cluster. Yet Merope, Electra, Maia, Pleiore, Altae, Asterope, Alcyone, Taygeta, and Celaeno shyly shine, determined in our periphery. I am told it is primarily due to the decreased light sensitivity structure in the receptors of the eye's central vision. What can I learn? It seems beauty often finds its depth in the more delicate and furtive revelations.
It reminds me to consider love and friendship. I am often inclined to take more and give less, but I know that isn't what is right for me.
Many a night I saw the Pleiads, rising thro' the mellow shade,
Glitter like a swarm of fireflies tangled in a silver braid.
~ Alfred Lord Tennyson
