I could spend all day and nearly every day working (playing) on ‘around-the-house’ projects -- whether it is wiring, landscaping, mowing, tree-cutting, or any sort of general demolition, construction and repair. With my career, I sat in an office chair for nearly forty years and most weeks I could hardly wait until I got to a weekend of fun projects. I don't have to wait until the weekends any longer, with my part-time work, but I still need to remember that there must be a healthy sense of balance which considers those around me. Without this equalization, my place and peace in the world would likely be insatiable and ultimately quite shallow.
It’s taken many years to realize that the essence of happiness is often derived from bolstering and celebrating the happiness of those around us. So, I resolve to put down the shovel, saw or tool-bag – at least, occasionally.
What might you resolve to do?
