I'm often amazed that the folks who often show the most gratitude with life are the same ones who may have endured the greatest hardships.  It doesn't mean they have no complaints... but perhaps the experience which a difficult life affords, allows for a much better sense of contrast in softer self expression.

Thankfully, qualities of happiness, generosity, and gentleness may also follow this line of unpredictability.  

I will always admire folks with this spirit of insightfullness and be happy they find such well-earned wisdom.
